Great engagement, support, collaboration, communications and clarity in the sale of my Mother's East Lothian property. Made the chain work to the intended date as well, no mean feat. Really very helpful and professional throughout. Highly recommend their services.

It has undeniably been the most regrettable experience of my lifetime, dealing with a solicitor team that exhibited a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy. Initially, I placed my trust in them based on their positive Google reviews, which now appear to be misleading and have led to significant frustration and inconvenience on my part. The solicitor in question was Shari, who astonishingly took a full year to complete the anti-money laundering check, despite my having submitted all required documents promptly. To compound matters, she repeatedly requested the same information, leading to redundant submissions. Regrettably, she ceased all communication, failing to respond to both my emails and those from the seller's side. My attempts to reach her went unanswered for two months until she seemingly disappeared without a trace.
I was dismayed to find myself in such a predicament. In desperation, I enlisted the assistance of the estate agent, who contacted Joni, the National Head of Conveyancing. However, this interaction proved to be equally disheartening, as Joni not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also declined to provide any insight into the unilateral breach of contract, responding in a profane manner.
I strongly advise against engaging with this company. As a result of their inefficiency, my funds remained in limbo within my bank account, as I had initially believed they could promptly resolve their business matters. Consequently, I have incurred substantial financial losses due to the failure of Simpson & Marwick to deliver on their commitments.

Awful experience from start to end, I am still not entirely convinced that they weren't being paid by the sellers. It would explain a lot.

Not very professional, leaving clients waiting whilst they "look for" documents that they seem to have lost. It's been days, I've called multiple times, and not even to call back after telling me they would. Not a single moment of respect for me as a client. Outrageous.

The team at Simpson & Marwick run a professional and slick operation. From producing high quality marketing material, arranging for the home report and thereafter providing viewing agents to “sell” the property to prospective buyers. Carole was my appointed sales negotiator, she was extremely professional and obviously had a wealth of experience. She was charming and approachable and communicated regularly with timely updates, guiding me through the process and making recommendations as required. The entire team worked together navigating through the different stages of the sale process which culminated in achieving in excess of my target sale value. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Simpson & Marwick and would utilise their services again in the future if the need arises. I cannot thank them enough for their expertise !
