29th Sep 2022 (1 year ago)I'd happily recommend Sharman Quinney to anyone looking for mortgage advisor. I used them to get a mortgage for purchasing my first house. Phil was extremely helpful and made the experience very easy. I had been left in the dark by another mortgage advisor which made the start of the already daunting experience even worse. Phil set me at ease, he made the effort to keep in contact and guide me through the whole process. He explained everything clearly and offered good advice wherever I was unsure. Nice and easy, for a first time selling a home it was as easy as I could have hoped for. Not only did we sell it quickly but we were really pleased with the price and got over the asking. (They also valued it more than other agents) Highly Recommended!

Sam looked after us and throughout the whole process he kept us updated, he was very efficient and communicated great with all the solicitors and us. And he got us in for Christmas. 23rd Aug 2023 (8 mo. ago)Use with caution. No doubt a successful agency with fantastic property on their books, but treated like pawns with a £1m+ budget. King West Market Harborough did not work with transparency during a set of viewings on a property they were selling. On the 2nd viewing, they did not show up. We walked around the property on our own, having agreed to meet them and the vendor with our parents present. A wasted 1hr journey. Further, they did not fully disclose the state-of-play with the level of interest in the property. Having withheld information that another party who were proceed-able were tabling an offer having been interested since 4 weeks prior to our own interest. The house was also removed from Rightmove prior to the 2nd viewing where no-one showed. When voicing my concern and raising red flags that 1) The house wasn't on rightmove, 2) No one showed on 2nd viewing 3) I learned there was a 4th and proceed-able party, the agent played down my concerns, was very defensive and said he expected we could sell our house as late as September and would be very much in with a shot. This was because the 4th party were 'faffing' as he put it. 2 days later, 4th party agrees to table an offer. Probably because King West hurried them along due to our own interest (this is my assumption, however). We get how this works, it's sales, sometimes an interested party needs a nudge and the fear of missing out. However, we feel that King West has strung us along and in turn we have played a catalyst to someone else's benefit. Good on them and good on King West for earning their commission, but this could have been orchestrated with empathy, open communication and transparency. On learning that we had missed out, we were disappointed that there was zero reaction by King West to; 1) Build a plan to find us a similar property 2) To learn what our motivators for moving are Let alone... 3) Find out why the vendor and an agent did not show 4) Find out why no one told us about the 4th party until the last minute!! Instead, I was told I'd get a call when the offer had been accepted. 7 days pass and so I decide to call. Sure enough the offer was accepted days ago and no one called to let us know. Surprise! It's entirely disappointing that King West knew that we only decided to market our own property off the back of them telling us that all other interested parties had their own houses to sell and that we were in a good and equal position. The house in question was ideal due to the location being in very close proximity to parents and King West knew this. It was a diamond on the market that was the only property we were willing to market our own house for. In conclusion, this is really poor and inconsistent communication from King West. It has resulted in our time being wasted (including bringing our 18mth old baby on viewings) and our intentions to sell our own property completely in vein and guided on misinformation from King West. We have a seven figure budget and I am appalled that there have been no proactive moves from King West to help us find something similar. When talking to other agents in the same area, they are diligent in understanding our criteria. If King West would like to call me, they have my number.

I'm currently coming to the end of the tenancy with Alberly Tyson, The staff have always been friendly, polite and professional. Alberly Tyson was supportive through both the moving-in period and the moving-out period, Giving us clear instructions on what we need to do throughout the process. I would definitely use again or recommend to a friend.

I never had to chase them up at all as they were always on the ball! So good that I had no second thoughts in using them again when it came to selling my house.

6th May 2024 (13 days ago)Walters managed to sell our property within 2 weeks of it being listed and slightly above asking price during what should have been a difficult time to sell. We dealth with several of the local Grantham estate agents, and Walters were by far the most useful, competent, professional and most able at communication. We were fairly shocked at how poor our experience was with some of the bigger names locally such as William H Brown, with most of them being exceedingly poor at organisation and communication, leaving us sometimes several weeks without any responses to our queries and requests. From the get go, Walters were exceedingly flexible. Chris saw us on a Sunday afternoon for our house valuation, and his valuation visit was by far the most pleasant. Most of the other agents were extremely blase and uninterested in the details of the property and were keen to just simply have it on their books and throw us their corporate paper binders of meaningless information. They gave absolutely zero evidence of why they had valued our house how they did, and some were in and out without so much as a query as to our personal situation of selling. Chris sat down with us with his laptop and showed us evidence of the local area and immediate local area sales for the past year or so, as well as current houses up for sale. He very clearly showed us houses listed for higher and why they were valued at that price, as well as prices listed at lower prices and why ours would be worth more. It was by far the most informative and "fair" valuation we received, and Chris was extremely open and honest about the valuation and the state of the housing market at that time. We went with Walters over the rest of the estate agents for a number of reasons. Chris was vastly more personable and generally just more interested in us and our property personally, and his communication style was somehow vastly superior than every other agent in town despite being a smaller agent with less investment. His fees were extremely competitive, and we noted that the quality of the pictures that were on Walters properties were infinitely better than pretty much every other agent's. The photographer he sent in was astoundingly good, the pictures were beyond what we expected, and that same photographer was able to do our EPC at the same time. Not only that, but from instructing Walters to be our agent, having photos taken and then the house being put on the market in all the right places, only three days had passed. Walters were extremely rapid not only in getting the process started, but within the first two weeks of the house being up for sale, we had over half a dozen viewings booked within the first two weeks, and we recieved almost immediate interest in the property. We were kept abreast of the viewing situations as well as the general feel of some of the viewers and their background and likelihood of offers, as well as the situation of their individual purchasing power and how easy a sale to each of them would be. All through the viewings process we were communicated with in triplicate, with every viewing, offer and any other event communicated via WhatsApp, Email as well as text message to ensure we had a constant update of dates, times and who was viewing the property so there was zero margin for error in bookings. We had good interest in the property, with Chris taking feedback of the property within 24 hours of every viewing so we knew if there was anything minor that could be done to the house to make it more attractive to potential buyers. Once we had a number of offers, we had last and final offers all sorted and accepted over a bank holiday weekend and the deal closed all within two weeks of going to the market. Overall, it baffles me that anybody would bother going to any other agent in Grantham. We have suffered massive incompetence from some of the biggest names, and Walters showed themselves time and time again to be far more capable and professional than every other agent. They run circles around the competition.
