24th Apr 2024 (14 days ago)Would not recommend this. My flatmates and I had the worst experience as (international students) tenants. They wouldn't return our calls and emails even in some emergency cases and rarely solved the tenants' issues. Maintenance was weak as well. It was last year but I'm still having nightmares about it, it cased us so much stress and anxiety. I hope I never have to use their service again.

24th Apr 2024 (14 days ago)It has been a little over 2 years now since I first decided to rent my flat in Slough with Connells. There were tons of letting agents who had approached me to utilize their services, but I somehow decided to pick Connells as they had made big promises on how efficiently they will be able to manage my property. Frankly, in this past year, not one week has gone by where I didn't regret my decision. While the first year was relatively smooth sailing, there were always indications of how abysmal the whole experience is going to turn out - not always returning calls, me having to chase them for the smallest of issues, avoidable errors in putting together simple documentation - from the tenancy agreement to maintenance certificates to issuing the wrong rental statement. They issued me a boiler installation certificate with the wrong address, and it has been 8 months since I asked them to correct it, and I am still chasing them. 240 days later!!! But this past year, Connells has just been a colossal disappointment. My tenant had complained of mold in the flat and Connells, as managers of the flat, were responsible to look after the issue promptly. Not only did I have to chase them numerous times to get the issue looked into, the tenant also shared similar frustrations with me, as he had tried to reach Connells several times to report the issue, but he had received no assurance that they will look into the problem. After much back and forth, they managed to get the right contractors to investigate the problem only 3 months later - first there was confusion between the head office and Slough office on who sends the contractor, then they send someone to inspect the roof (when there was nothing wrong with the roof!!). By the time, the right contractors went in to inspect the issue, the problem had already worsened - it was later determined that the mold was because of a leaking pipe, which could have been identified much earlier and limited the damage significantly. Given this was not potentially the tenant's fault, it was agreed, after much deliberation, to give the tenant a compensation of 50% off on the rent for a month - but given how much of this was owing to a fault on Connell's part in getting the issue resolved promptly, I asked Connells to bear half of the loss. First Connells refused to admit they were at fault and then when I pressed on, they eventually agreed to compensate me £150 as they accepted responsibility in the delay in getting contractors in + agreed to reduce my service charge from 8% to 6%. This was agreed almost 2 months ago and I am still waiting to be compensated. Two rent cycles have gone by and Connells has done nothing to either redress the matter nor do I have the updated boiler certificate. I have sent hundreds of emails to Balreet Grewal from the Slough office and Emily Sheehan and Beth David from the head office and I have been met with radio silence. I barely managed to speak to Bal two weeks ago and he said he had instructed head office to take care of it and should be done soon, but still nothing! Why should I be caught in the cross fire between the Slough office and the head office. I pay about £100 per month to Connells for management of my flat only to be given this dreadful service. I am writing this review now because I am frankly tired of chasing Connells. Overall, I would not recommend Connells to anyone in search of reliable and efficient property management services. Their consistent delays in communication and subpar service have only served to exacerbate the situation these past few months.

25th Apr 2024 (13 days ago)Scammers/ silent thieves I don't recommend miHome for vendors / sellers. They work in favour of the buyer. Overall, from the experience after dealing with mi Home estate agent, I can say that they do not owe any duty of care to their vendors. Introducing buyer who never viewed the house before putting offer. undervalued the house and saying that the house build is not of good quality and would not worth more than the offer- pressure to exchange at the buyer convenience without waiting for the seller to be ready. Husain tried to get the seller to sign a declaration written by the buyer with a financial liability if sale fall through. Additionally, Mi- Hime response below is not true. The sold price was lower than the agreed price on the contract by £200000. We were not ready for the exchange and asked for extra time. Mi home put pressure to exchange on buyer convenient date. When we rejected, Husain emailed us untrue claim that if the buyer pull out from the sale it will be considered as indirect withdraw , which we never heard of or stipulated in the contract. I hope this explains that MI home is only after commission and satisfying buyer. How could they introduce a buyer who never seen the house before offer? Any vendor lists a house on the market, he needs to secure a buyer with the agreed price on contract. Mi Home brought the buyer and stated that the offered price is the right for the this house quality build. Sale price was far less than the agreed price which was based on comparable and recent sale. What is more important than the price is the integrity and due care of client which Mi home failed to meet: 1- pressure the exchange date, against the UK law. 2- attempting to have a declaration from the seller with financial liability to be paid to the buyer if sale fall through. This is against UK law. The declaration worked on by the agency and buyer!!!!
3rd Mar 2024 (9 weeks ago)Im shocked at the level of lack professionalism disreguard of potential tennents aswell of lack of care. I arranged a viewing for saturday. Its a good job i called up to confirm and check the address. Turns out my viewing had been cancelled as property was gone. No one called me to update me. I would of been standing out side waiting in the rain and no one would of been coming. To add insult to the matter, when asked why i wasnt informed i was told there was 40-50 people viewing, they didnt have time to call so many people. The lack of care and whatever attidtude is some what concerning. So basicaly we dont care about letting you know you been cancelled. Leads me to wounder if they are the same with tennants. If something needs replacing or fixing will they even respond?

18th Mar 2024 (7 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

He has been superb in the sale of our house and went above and beyond to ensure that our sale went ahead. From the beginning to the end he has had a positive outlook. On our viewings he was bright and bubbly and ensured that the viewers were made aware of the benefits of our property,. When we eventually agreed a sale we had a long process due to the fact that the buyers held up matters, however Rhys would always be pressing to try and speed up the process and always kept us up to date and informed. At one stage our buyer went abroad, Rhys was on calls to our buyer at 1030 at night trying to deal with their queries in an attempt to push our sale through. We can’t thank Rhys enough for what he did for us. He is a real credit to his trade and we would throughly recommend using him to friends and family. Again thank you Rhys Henry
