By far the worst real estate agency I have ever used or heard of anyone using.
The beginning was very promising, decent house, good area and price. However not long into the tenancy the appliances started breaking down. First call to the agent was answered and the promise of repair given - never fulfilled in neither this nor many future cases. The number of problems with the house coming up correlated negatively with the amount of replies from the agency. Lack of respect towards our privacy and entering the house with either minimal notice or simply none at all was just the tip of the iceberg. Mould was taking over the house and agency’s action was despicable. In the end I believe we might have discovered a new species of a fungus on our bathroom ceiling (picture provided). Passive aggressive email exchange became a norm, but the peak of tactlessness and ignorance was when a glass shower wall spontaneously exploded (a common occurrence especially with flawed constructions, as in our case), yet the agent’s response claimed they ‚have of course had the damaged glass panel in the shower inspected by multiple suppliers and fitters, all said this is a direct result of direct damage, they unfortunately laughed at the explanation given regarding the temperature somehow shattering the entire screen’. It speaks for itself, I believe, what was the quality of services used by the company. Oh, and no one came to inspect the glass. Also, yes, I am slowly coming towards the last chapter.
The absolute climax of our adventure was however the abominable attempt of the agency to strip us of our deposit money. 300£ mattresses? 300£ paint jobs? Thank heavens for Deposit Protection Scheme. Otherwise we would have simply have to bid goodbye to thousands of pounds.
It was a journey I wouldn’t wish upon my greatest enemy. And how I dreamed during those months of being able to afford a lawyer...... Read more

Appalling. Among other issues, the property was unfinished upon moving in, and I found evidence of pest infestation (a lovely dead mouse, joy!). Our tenancy started in August and we've been trying to chase this agency up to carry out basic repairs and get pest control in ever since. They couldn't even provide us a gas safety certificate. Avoid this agency in exactly the same way our agent avoids responding to us!... Read more

the worse appartment management and maintenance.
I have never been in a worse appartment then 50 Fitzroy House Dickens Yard managed by Hawks property.. Heater, hot water, dishwasher, washing machine. every week there is an issue. It is really a pity. I will never rent again through this company and make sure nobody I know does. lesson learned.... Read more

Had the displeasure of dealing with Charlie the "lettings manager" (not exactly sure how he got that position). Originally we were booked in to see two rooms that were in the same house however, upon arrival Charlie said that it would not be possible to view the second larger room because he did not have access as the tenant had not moved out yet.
Now, with every other lettings agency we have dealt with even if their has been a tenant living their they have arranged with the tenant to allow viewings of their room.
So naturally after being shown the first room I asked Charlie why it was not possible to see the second room, he simply replied that it had not been arranged and we can't intercede on someone's personal space (second part is true but it should have been arranged?) I asked further why it hadn't been arranged since we had been booked in to see two rooms and his response was "im not getting into an argument with you".
Finding this a little strange we walked out the house where whilst he was closing the door I was going to ask when it would be possible to book to see another room Hawkes had to offer when I was interupted by Charlie and he went off on me. Saying how I was rude to him upstairs and that he would never even put me in to one of his rooms because I would start causing problems.
Then this is where the real trouble starts as he kept on going off and shouting at me I was shocked and said "and you're the lettings manager?" His response?
"I may be a lettings manager but I'm also from hackney" - Charlie the Lettings Manager of Hawkes Property Group
In this moment he also 'squared' up to me, started shouting across the whole street and shoving his finger in my face. Bare in mind whilst he's about 20cm from my face shouting, he's also not wearing a mask.
Generally speaking the most unprofessional man I have ever met and I believe you should just avoid this company in general. Even if I had apparently been rude to Charlie his response was not warranted, completely unprofessional and frankly if the owners are reading this I really believe you should let him go.... Read more
