I would absolutely encourage anyone looking for housing to look elsewhere. Lighthouse appeared friendly and helpful at first but this facade quickly faded. Once we moved in we had noticed the house had appeared to have not been cleaned. We found rubbish in the front and back gardens, which were also overgrown. The walls were covered in black mould, to which we notified them of its health risk and were told it was our issue to fix. The walls were also crumbling through the property. The downstairs shower in our house was filthy and didn't work. We reported this and nothing was done to fix it. The toilets were also grotty and unpleasant. Maintenance people often showed up at the property unannounced, and if there was an email, it was often sent less than 24 hours before they would show up, which is illegal. We also had monthly smoke alarm test which we had asked to be put later in the day, which was only observed a couple of times before they were back in at 9 a.m. again. We had a neighbour go through a bedroom ceiling a month and a half before the end of our tenancy, which was not fixed until the last day, again with no notice. They still expected him to pay the full rent for the rest of the tenancy despite his room being in unusable condition and his stuff ruined. My room had a leak in the ceiling which they took their merry time to fix too. Overall it was a horrid experience and we are glad to be rid of them.... Read more
