AVOID AVOID AVOID! We tried selling our house through Shipways to no avail and then changed to another estate agent. This was agreed to by shipways. They provided us with a list of people they introduced to the property and we passed it on to our new agent. We had a buyer and sold last autumn. Shipways are now trying to claim £4000 off of us through a debt collector claiming our buyer was introduced by them when they were NOT. We have the list and we have proof. Shameful behaviour!
Also, they listed our property (when we bought it) as a 3 bed when it was actually just a two bed. Be careful about this when they say a loft room is a bedroom because it might not be. We lost thousands because of this.
Do yourself a favour and use any other estate agent.

This is now the 3rd time I have moved house and used Shipways and as always they were brilliant. I used Matt Gibbs (again) for my mortgage advice, protection services and Will and he was fantastic. Helpful, approachable and super friendly. Made the whole process easy and stress free. We also used their recommended solicitor, Conveyancing Direct who were equally amazing, BIG thank you to the team at Shipways and Zoe Matthews at Conveyancing Direct. Hands down, best property Lawyer I have ever used.

Buying a property couldn’t of been made easier Matthew Gibbs’s sorted everything for me I didn’t really have to
Do much just send my statements and I’d and rest was taken care off. he will get you the best mortgage deal possible then when your looking for a property he will call up the sellers for the best offer on the bid so you got more of a chance of getting accepted. I also recommend you use Zoe Matthew’s as your solicitor too as they work as the perfect duo very professional and experienced they been doing this a long time and you wont be left hanging there’s no long waits on replies or inquiries either all the updates will be chased up accordingly and sorted for you honestly hassle free service A++++++++ will be using them both again when I come to sell/ buy again!! Time saver and makes whole

Matt Gibbs is an Outstanding Mortgage Advisor.
When my offer to purchase a house in Kidderminster was accepted in November 2023, I got in touch with Matt Gibbs to help me secure the best mortgage deal. As a lawyer, I could have shopped for mortgage deals on the high street without having to go through a mortgage broker. Engaging Matt was the best decision and I’m extremely grateful to him and his team for all their support.
I have been exceptionally impressed with Matt for several reasons. When I first contacted Matt, he said he would get me the best mortgage deal and he did. Matt got me two mortgage deals with Halifax and HSBC. There are several mortgage brokers out there but what sets Matt apart is his professionalism, excellent client care, wicked sense of humour, and ability to get things done.
Matt is an astute mortgage broker who understands the priorities of his clients and knows the actions to be taken to achieve the best result for them. He has a proven track record of getting things done in a timely fashion.
Matt promised to get me the best mortgage deal and as I write this review, I have exchanged contract with the seller on 19 March and we are ready to complete the transaction on 25 March.
Matt is an outstanding mortgage broker and whatever he promises, he delivers. If you are looking for a mortgage broker who can get you the best deal, then I highly recommend Matt.

After finding a house that was on the market with shipways, I got a call from Matt asking if I had anything arranged for mortgage advise. After telling Matt I had already spoken to an advisor about this he asked if I would possibly give him the chance to beat the deal I had been offered, and he was pretty confident he would be able to.
Obviously like most, I already thought I had a great deal lined up, but low and behold Matt blew it out the water. Safe to say he has saved us a few hundred per month on mortgage payments.
Matt was great in his communication from the offset and that communication carried on all throughout the process of the application.
If anyone is looking for a mortgage advisor who makes the whole process simple and straight forward then I'd look no further.
We can't thank Matt enough for his time and expertise on finding us a mortgage product that has suited our needs and for the insurance policy that covers myself as a self employed tradesman.

We had an excellent experience with Theo! He was in charge of our process and he was always ready to lend a hand, ensuring we had all the right documents and communicating effectively throughout the process. Theo was patient and willing to clear up any misconceptions we had. Even when he was away, Elizabeth and Brogan were friendly and helpful and was just as effective. I'll definitely be recommending Shipways to family and friends! They made house hunting very seamless and we are really glad to finally have a home after five months of searching.
