The team have always kept us in the loop regarding the property, promptly dealt with any arising issues, and have guided us through every stage of the process. They have also been great at fielding questions and providing tailored advice.

Went on a flat viewing with him the other night and he was so attentive and answered all my stupid questions and I kept him so much longer than intended so sorry about that matthew!! He was a really genuine nice guy though and was the only real estate agent I’ve met so far who I came away from feeling like he was a nice guy who wanted to help me! Big 10/10 thank you Matthew!

19th Aug 2024 (20 days ago)I was considering selling my property, so I invited two estate agents, Garrett & Bradley and Westcoast, to provide quotes. On June 15, 2023, Helen Duthie from Westcoast emailed me, agreeing to match Garrett & Bradley's quoted fee of 0.8%. I informed both agents that I would contact them once I decided to proceed with the sale. After some deliberation, I chose to go with Westcoast and listed my property with them on August 3, 2023. However, upon reviewing the contract, I discovered that the fee had been changed to 1%. When I questioned this, I was dismissively told that the lower fee was no longer available. Although I considered walking away, I decided to stay since my property was already listed and I had begun searching for a new one. Buying and selling property is a stressful and complex process, and many people rely on the expertise of their estate agents for guidance. Westcoast referred me to a conveyancer called Muve and a removal company. I trusted that Westcoast had thoroughly vetted these partners to ensure they had their clients' best interests at heart, but this was not the case. Muve is an online company with conveyancers based in Sri Lanka. From the start, my onboarding process was mishandled, and communication was poor. Midway through my purchase, I received a leasehold report from them stating that I had opted for indemnity insurance instead of local authority and drainage searches. Muve sent me a PDF flyer that mentioned insurance against missing the stamp duty holiday deadline, which had already passed in 2021. The flyer also claimed that indemnity insurance is used when a sale needs to be completed quickly, which was irrelevant to my situation as no one had set a deadline for completion or asked Muve to expedite the process. Their quote vaguely listed a "report with indemnity." As a client, I expected them to explain my options clearly so I could make informed decisions. Losing confidence in their service, I instructed them to stop working on my purchase and hired a local conveyancer not referred by Westcoast, who was significantly more professional from the outset. The removal company Westcoast referred to me cancelled their survey visit an hour before the scheduled time. I had rearranged my plans to accommodate them and emailed them a list of alternative dates and times, but I never heard back. Two days later, I contacted Wilkinsons Removal & Storage in Bristol, who were brilliant and highly recommended. Estate agents often receive financial incentives from the companies they refer to their clients, and it became clear that financial gain was more important to Westcoast than acting in their clients' best interests. Communication with Westcoast was poor, with calls and emails frequently going unanswered. On a positive note, Jeet from Westcoast sold my property quickly and at the desired price, although I'm certain Garrett & Bradley would have done the same and been far more professional. Westcoast have responded to my complaint regarding the fee being changed by saying this was an introductory offer, this is a complete lie. Helen Duthie had no intention of matching Garett & Bradleys fee, it clearly shows Westcoast cannot be trusted and lack the clarity & integrity showed by other Estate Agents. Avoid this company at all costs

It was such an eye sore and at one point I thought I might have to go to the tip myself!! Bethan dealt with the issue really quickly and was super friendly. I would highly recommend using them in the hunt for a property, they are extremely professional with great communication (there office is rather nice aswell). 10/10

23rd Aug 2024 (16 days ago)I’ve had a really positive experience with Boardwalk so far. My agent Tom has been very helpful in guiding me through the sale of my flat, which is very much appreciated as it’s the first time I’ve done this! Tom has been really communicative the whole time and helped me get an offer on my flat after two weeks of it being on the market. Everything has gone very smoothly so far and I would highly recommend Tom and the team at Boardwalk.
13th Mar 2024 (26 weeks ago)Macey came out to our property in February to give us a valuation. We were unsure whether we wanted to renew our mortgage in August or sell. Macey was absolutely incredible. So kind and attentive, she made us really proud of the home we had created and the work we had done to it. She did her research before coming to see us, looking at old photo’s of the property and houses that were sold in the area similar to ours. She had a pack prepared and went through it all in detail. No question we had was too much trouble. Honestly, she was just incredible. After the visit we were not bombarded with phone calls or emails which was so refreshing. It’s nice to find an estate agents that aren’t just after your money constantly and see you as human beings. When we decide to sell our home in the future we will 100% be back to this team to help us. Thank you.

We will definitely be contacting Hollis Morgan again when we next have a property to sell. Sold two more properties through Hollis Morgan. Very pleased with the prices achieved. Will be contacting them again at some point in the future.

Incompetent, disrespectful of people’s time and belongings as well as their personal data, which they willingly share with their contractors without prior asking for permission. Great at downplaying all the issues and same goes for their in house complaint process, clearly have a hard time admitting fault. Condescending and patronising whenever issues are brought up and then surprised we stopped bothering reporting anything (those things mentioned were never addressed). Kate at lettings acts like she owns the place, the one time I had to do an inspection with her she would start touching my belongings without asking, I had to physically remove myself from the property for any future inspections to avoid her causing me another anxiety attack. If it wasn’t brought up at the end of our tenancy, where she „apologised”, she wouldn’t have done otherwise as she lacks any self awareness. Mary, who reviewed the complaint did her best to undermine my concerns and the general response was „it wasn’t that bad, you could have moved out earlier”. Appalling attitude. What is mentioned in the review is just a tip of the iceberg, as they will probably try and respond in a selective way :)

18th Mar 2024 (25 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

5th Sep 2024 (3 days ago)First some perspective. I hate buying or selling property in the UK. The conveyancing system is wilfully and perversely Byzantine. Add in a delinquent property with seemingly intractable problems, and I needed a stellar team at my side. And a stellar team is what I got with Number One Real Estate. I am reluctant to put the spotlight on anyone particular but a special shout-out must go to Gemma, who managed to get the sale over the line. She exemplifies the entire team at Number One: always responsive and superbly supportive throughout the entire process. I doubt any other estate agent would have shown the persistence, endurance and drive of Number One to get this particular deal done. And yes, the value for money they offer is unparalleled. Highly recommended.
