24th Apr 2024 (26 days ago)If I could give zero stars I would. They tried to force us into using their in house broker (which of course they get extra commission for) and they fabricated a cash buyer. Their exact words were “there is a cash buyer but if you use our broker we will go sale agreed with you today”. We now know there was never any cash buyer. It’s actually illegal for agents to insist that you use their in-house broker and Connells have been reported for this before. Funnily enough the call was made from a work mobile so there is no recording. Awful, pushy, lying agents.
12th Feb 2023 (1 year ago)Sample Mills gave me an excellent service with everyone who worked for them was very kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they gave me excellent advice and even suggested services I may need. They have superb local knowledge and a good price for the house I was selling. I could not praise them highly enough and would recommend anyone to use them if they want a professional caring service.
21st Apr 2024 (29 days ago)Turned up for a viewing without an appointment and caught my 14 year old getting out of the shower. When I complained to the agent she smirked in my face. Over priced properties and the way they write the property details is laughable. “A tranquil retreat” - it’s an en-suite shower room in a tacky new build. Who are you kidding?

1st May 2024 (19 days ago)Tom Bedford at Savills, Exeter has lead us through a complicated and at times distressing probate sale. I appreciated his humour, communication and candour. I recommend as a safe pair of hands.
16th Apr 2024 (5 weeks ago)Our purchase was facilitated by the incredible Helen De Burton. Helen is an ideal figure head for this company as she embodies every potential positive value. She is kind, funny, clever, quick witted, assertive, and hugely supportive. We simply could not have got the purchase off the ground without her. If we ever change careers and open an estate agents ourselves we will poach her. She is a fantastic asset to this firm and we would not hesitate to use her again (we are never ever moving again however!!!). Thank you Helen you are just the best!

The sale was quite complicated and went on for six months, through no fault of Fraser Wheeler, and Paul was there every step of the way encouraging and supporting us. There were times when the sale could have fallen through and Paul handled everything with total professionalism and a deft touch encouraging both sides to come to a mutually satisfactory final settlement. Well done and thank you!

Really kept the sale on track in my mind. Always prompt feedback after every viewing. Fantastic experience from start to end. Would only use Chamberlains in the future. Well done guys !!!

After 5 months of purchasing (as advertised) no chain home, lack of due diligence meant that we were miss informed, information was not shared, additional costs were not communicated until week 20 and there was little hurry to complete the sale, the seller was using Connells recommended solicitor who seemed to be useless and could not contact the sellers meaning after five months, we decided we had wasted too much time and money to gain nothing. I wish I had read the reviews before investing, now looking to purchase a new home and dismiss any houses up for sale with Connells - avoid at all cost. As for the ethics of the business, the sale could not go through due to the management covenant wording, lack of communication from the seller, yet the house was back up for sale in a matter of days, at a reduced price… still more than our offer which was accepted, I hope no one falls for these games that Connells Newton Abbot play!
