Avoid this company like the plague, in particular the Crewe branch. I had a truly awful experience with these so called professionals who went out of their way, with the landlord, to take nearly £2.5k from me for a property I "tried" to rent. The issue began the day I registered the address for my water usage PRIOR to moving in. This alerted the water company that someone was going to be at the property. I received a call from the supplier which was very direct and to the point, stating that the property had a leak which was losing 500 litres a day, they had tried to contact the landlord but had no response and that as I was now the tenant it was my responsibility to pay for and sort. After alot of frantic phone calls with the waterboard it turns out Leaders (and the Landlord) were fully aware of this issue prior to me signing the tenancy agreement but did not disclose this information to me. I had the keys to the property but refused to move in until this issue was sorted by the landlord, via Leaders. This issue went on for over 3 months. Every few days I followed up I was told by Leaders we can't get hold of the Landlord but I still anticipated to move in imminently and kept the keys expecting to do so not knowing this would go on for months.... this would later be used against me by Leaders and cost me thousands. After over 3 months of constant excuses about not being able to get hold of the Landlord, Leaders, at first, agreed this issue was known about by both parties, prior to me signing any agreement and supported the fact that I'd be rented the property misleadingly the explanation being "we thought the issue had been fixed" There whole attitude then changed when apparently there had been a huge mistake and in fact there was no leak, and because I'd kept hold of the keys I had to pay all the rent up to that point. As you can imagine I was very angry to say the least all I wanted to do is rent a property!! I was then led down a garden path by Leaders saying they would do everything for me to sort out but in fact did nothing and lied to me. At this point I had had enough and said I didn't want to move into the property, it was at this point when I returned the keys, demands for rent were made. After alot of back and forth Leaders told me the landlord was happy for me to step away (that was good of them!!!) As long as I paid the remarketing cost for the property of £500 and I would get my first month's rent and deposit back. I stupidly agreed to this and guess what I never received anything back and Leaders have recently, 14 months on, started chasing me for unpaid rent!! I set foot in the property once and it costs me financially and even more so mentally. A truly disgusting company who anablled a landlords to hide away and do nothing and then take my money. As a buyer rather than client I thought Leaders provided a great service. They are one of the few agents who take the trouble to include details like service charges and ground rents when preparing particulars of leasehold property. They were quick and efficient in answering questions. Sue Carter in particular was a diamond in progressing a difficult sale with her clients and their solicitor. She has earned a pay rise and large bonus on the basis of this transaction alone!... Read more

Very hard work Just wanted to know if a rental property accepts pets. They ignore me and email me a form to give them all my details (which they don't need if the answer is no). I can't even open the link because Google says the website isn't safe I can't get through to anyone on the phone Eventually I manage to speak to someone in sales, but they can't answer a very simple question and surprise surprise.. want my details so someone can spam me with calls and text messages L... This estate agent never bothers to call or email you after booking for a viewing. Online they even ask you to select a date for the viewing but they then just ignore you. I will certainly not be using this estate agent in the future as they clearly don’t care about landlords, tenants, and owners. Very poor service. Use alternative estate agents in the area.... I’ve raised a maintenance request regarding proper sealing of tiles in bathroom which is causing a leak. Although one of their contractors turned up weeks after I raised the issue, nothing has been done so far to fix the issue. It has been almost 2 months now. I’ve never seen an agency that doesn’t even care to maintain their property. Such a worst experience.... Read more

Bad service. They don't know how to maintain their resources. We have reported a bathroom maintenance 1 months, none of Leaders maintenance team came to us as of now. We have recieved multiple email saying that our team will contact you blah blah blah. Apart from emails, no one turned up. Not only maintenance, their service is very bad in most of the thing they offer.... Read more

I'm unsure if it was all down to Leaders or just simply miscommunication with the landlord. Still, often, my time spent in their hands seemed like it was often more difficult than it needed to be! I few examples can be given, such as being sent credit control warnings about money I owed them when the no deposit option hadn't be included in my latest statement or wasn't made as clear as it could've been! Also, when my landlord finally changed agencies, I was given another credit control about not paying that month's rent even though I'd already been informed of the switch before this date. I'd already been moved over, admittedly I rang them and they informed me straight away I didn't owe that money so fair enough! Sometimes, the more minor issues within the household as a tennant don't seem to be priority, and you would send an email in January only for the work to be done in May or June. Again, I'm not sure if it's the landlord or leaders taking their time to decide on whether the work needs doing. Another issue I pointed out was having to have an extension lead on my kitchen unit for months, which to me is a health and safety risk however, the photos on this issue were just ignored. Ultimately, it seems depending on what the landlord says Leaders are powerless puppets unable to get stuff done. I will give credit where credit is due though when something disastrous happens they were able to fix my kitchen ceiling that fell through due to the bath having no seal on it in the first place when we moved in. I obviously didn't notice and neither did my then partner and it appears neither did Leaders before we moved in! Finally I have to mention the countless weeks waiting on a fridge when my fridge freezer broke, it must have been at least three weeks!... Read more
