I know sellers back out sometimes but they handled it awfully, we had to learn it from our onwards, they gave no, explanation or advice and showed zero sympathy. They left us off the market for months and we missed several equiries and lost our onwards due to their ineptitude. To make matters worse they were almost double the price of other agents.
5th May 2024 (20 weeks ago)My personal experience with agents from Redwood Estates. Organizational betrayal, powers control and gaslights: The letting agent failed to protect my tenancy deposit from 2010-2015 & 2017- 2023. Catherine, Debbie and Lynn used tenancy agreements to wage war against me for wanting to protect my tenancy rights as a private tenant. Poor management The tenancy deposit certificate ID was received in a repossession claim from the BCFC in September 2023. False information was issued on the certificate. Health and Safety breaches under Human Rights act Trespass to goods- the unauthorised posting of my personal items online during the commercial sale of "the property in 2020 and 2022-2023. The LL and letting agents "ganged up" against via using coercive control, harassment and peer pressure discriminative conduct from May 2022 until November 2023. My tenancy rights to live in comfort at my home without unnecessary interruptions were greatly challenged. Indoor cameras were used to protect and safeguard me from further harm during contact with these individuals. The named letting agents demanded to enter the property during my absence under the disguise of "prospective viewers" from January 2023 to November 2023 . I was gas-lighted in reports regarding "their management" of the property. Retaliatory Eviction & collusion of wrong doing: I stood my ground and was issued illegal eviction notices s.21 (forms 8 and 6a) by LL on 12 May 2023 and 27 June 2023 for challenging the £450.00 rent increase proposal on 9 May 2023. The first eviction s.21 notice form 8 was declared invalid by Housing Inclusion Services on 27 June 2023. The LL issued the second s.21 eviction form 6a. It was illegal and retaliatory. The LL failed to follow the legally prescribed guidelines before issuing a s21 notice (my tenancy deposit was not protected during years as LL (2017-2023)), how to rent booklet May 2023 was not received, inaccurate dates recorded on EPC, faulty repair complaints from 2017-2023 treated dismissively in reports (poor management of property). Fraudulent conducts Catherine P was informed of the LL's decision to issue s.21 notice in May 2022 ( premediated act) as revealed in the SAR disclosure of 10 January 2024 (eighteen months later). Financial abuse & coercive control Monthly rental payments were increased twice by LL and terms of tenancy changed with Redwood Estate's involvement from May 2022 to July 2022. These incidents occurred during vulnerable periods in life ( the unfair automatic dismissal) after 22 years of continuous employment for making protected acts and qualifying disclosures against a former employer. The abuse from the letting agents and LL also paralleled with periods of vicious abuse from agents of the former employer. Debbie T would treat SAR information regarding unlawful interference in my personal life unprofessionally during enquiries raised in January 2024. She reacted by using red and yellow inked letters in email correspondences). Letting agents of Redwood Estates (UK) Ltd fraudulently sign ( electronically) using my details for tenancy agreements in 2016,2017-2019. Subject access requests of 6 December 2023 to Redwood Estates were received on 10 January 2024 (delayed). I was taken advantage of by agents from Redwood Estates whose intent was to subject my life to the reign of terror during my final year of tenancy. I was the private tenant at the property from 29 January 2010 to 27 February 2024. They don't deserve a star.

23rd Jul 2024 (9 weeks ago)I viewed two rental properties with Mohammed, the first one had a previous pest problem and when I asked for the documentation from pest control to show the relevant work was completed I was told they could not provide it. (Ripon road) - Still available. The second property is on Shorndean street, I was the first person to view and as soon as I left I called the office to make an offer and was told I’d receive a call back, they never called back. I chased them and was told someone else had put in an offer so I couldn’t. Weeks on this property is still showing as available and every time I call Mohammed either avoids me, or has said I cannot offer as other offers are going forward. (Even though I was the first to view it and call) As an estate agent myself I can’t seem to understand why they will only put forward one offer as they are legally obliged to put all offers forward fairly. I will be making a formal complaint against them to the property ombudsman.

22nd Aug 2024 (4 weeks ago)Three years after we moved out of a rental property used to be managed by DW, we got a series of emails claiming we owe them money for fixing the heating, given the facts: 1. We have never fixed a heating, 2. Invoice date is three months after we move out, 3. We had a clean inventory check list when we move out, 4. It’s not a tenant’s responsibility to fix heating. Emailing them and calling them doesn’t help, we still get emails asking for money. Impressive! - Edit: we were contacted by DW after this review, and it’s solved now.

The first time was when we were buying our very first home, and the second time was a few years later when we decided to sell that same property. Susan and Will are extremely good at what they do. They're super responsive, always there to answer our questions and guide us through the process. Honestly, they made everything so much easier and stress-free. Can't recommend them enough!

Hasan and I had been going back and forth for several months trying to find a property, so many viewings but we finally found the right one. He was incredibly helpful and made sure to let me know of any properties that might be of interest in the lead up to us finally finding our flat. Would definitely recommend, especially for students trying to find flats to rent!

5th Sep 2022 (2 years ago)Terrible Until you pay everything goes well and then it’s just a joke. Just to mention a few: - moved in a brand new building, the door lock broke once, they advised me to go to an hotel for the night while waiting for the next day. Then they refused to pay for the room they told me they will pay and stopped replying to my emails, very unprofessional - lots of things weren’t working in my flat when J moved in and they didn’t help at all. I had to deal with everything - didn’t even get a proper check out document Definitely don’t recommend it

Honestly, she went above and beyond to make sure everything went well and with ease. It’s rare to find an individual that cares about your needs, but Vicky did just that. 4th Jul 2024 (11 weeks ago)Awful experience with Hunters - so much so that I feel compelled to write a review, something I never do! They failed to advertise a property as for cash buyers only, and let me arrange a viewing despite knowing I needed a mortgage. Obviously then realising their mistake on the day of the viewing, I received an automated cancellation email an hour before the viewing - at this point I had already left and didn’t see the email. Nobody attempted to call or text me, which is how the viewing was arranged. I was then left stood outside the property in the rain for 20 minutes while the agent ignored my calls, only to then receive a text message admitting their error. All in all 3 hours of my evening wasted! Zero respect or care for potential buyers.

It's quite rare to find a company that provides satisfactory service these days, let alone an outstanding one. Well, they absolutely exceeded my expectations by a long shot! Firstly, everyone I dealt with in this business was friendly, helpful, and polite. I used them for what turned out to be a highly complex sale/purchase, and I genuinely believe that had I not used Stanton Hockett, I would never have moved. They were dedicated, kept in contact throughout, were always available to speak to, were honest throughout, and totally committed to working with all parties to ensure the whole process worked. All of these qualities were appreciated and welcomed, but for me, personally, it was the personal touch that they brought and knowing that they cared. I really cannot thank them enough for all the hard work they put in for me. Special thanks to Bradley, Tina and Gavin, but know the whole team contributed, so thank you.

15th Apr 2024 (23 weeks ago)I contracted Davis & Gibbs to deal with the sale of my ex-rental studio flat in Kennington. Callum Brook was professional, realistic and really helpful throughout the process. As I no longer live in the UK, he sent me pictures of the flat, advised on which repairs were worth doing, got the meter readings, checked for mail, gave advice on how to deal with the formalities, etc. Nothing was too much trouble. Very shortly after the flat went back on the market (within about 10 days, I think), Callum got me an offer very close to the asking price which I was happy to accept, and the sale was completed recently. I am delighted with this result, especially at a time when the housing market is so unpredictable. I would not hesitate to use Davis & Gibbs again.
