24th Apr 2024 (14 days ago)As a landlord of a property in Hemel Hempstead that I have been letting with Brown & Merry for the last 10 years. I have never had any issues with my tenants until recently when due to Stephen Counden and Eliot Mortimer's quick response we managed to mitigate the situation before it got worse. I cannot thank them both enough for their support and effort made to come to a good outcome for all. This was extremely stressful for both me and them included and I really feel they went over and above what was expected. Thanks again to you both

A massive thanks to the whole team in lettings at St Albans branch, starting from viewings done by lovely Paula, property management by David, unreserved help from Vicky, Roni and Nadya all from start to finish! I would highly recommend their services as they are always avaiable to help.

20th Mar 2024 (7 weeks ago)Do not recommend. They were ok at beginning of tenancy as they want to make money Ofc. But extremely difficult at end of tenancy. They tried to take my deposit for things I was not responsible for such as a faulty boiler (which I reported months before I handed in my notice). They were aware of this as they provided the inventory. Very difficult and rude admin personnel. Avoid. Avoid.

I didn’t know the area at all so I was going in blind and ended up viewing the flat following a suggestion from the agent. It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for! There were numerous delays due to a break in the chain on my side but the support and communication from the sales progression team was great and although it took longer than expected it still didn’t feel too stressful!

Joe and the team have great local knowledge and a great network of service providers that help to get deals over the line in a manner that is stress free for yourself. We would highly recommend them and will certainly be using them again in the future.

19th Feb 2024 (11 weeks ago)I am a single occupant first time buyer and the prospect of buying my first home was daunting and overwhelming. I had experiences with two other estate agents before I found Gascoigne-Pees, which were stressful and unhelpful. My experience with Gascoigne-Pees was refreshingly positive and they were very efficient, informative and helpful. Martina and Kim in particular were very helpful for me throughout the whole process and were always willing to support me with any questions that I had, and were very responsive. They were friendly and approachable, supporting me through the whole process. I would definitely recommend this estate agents and would look to use them again myself in the future when the time arises!

23rd Apr 2024 (15 days ago)We decided to use Ashtons because they did very well selling a house for us 10 years ago. We had a positive experience then and achieved more sales price than other local agents advised. This time we were looking to let our property and the Ashtons lettings agent Colin Hickey was helpful, easy to talk with and professional from the start. He told us what he thought could be achieved and then went on to deliver. My phone calls have never been ignored, there has never been a problem getting through or expressing our viewpoints. Indeed I cannot fault the service but only commend. Very glad we made the decision we did. Happily recommend
9th Apr 2024 (29 days ago)Was keen on viewing a house but some 12 year old kid named Mo who they have manning the phones was completely useless in organising a viewing and eventually said that the house was sold despite not being sold. I went and viewed the house at another local estate agent who were very good at organising a viewing. I event put in an offer and gazumped the poor person who had the misfortune of dealing with Mo and Co at Brown and Merry. I am currently typing this review from that very house! Lesson learnt, when selling £500K+ houses don’t put a 12 year old as your front of house!
3rd Mar 2024 (9 weeks ago)Im shocked at the level of lack professionalism disreguard of potential tennents aswell of lack of care. I arranged a viewing for saturday. Its a good job i called up to confirm and check the address. Turns out my viewing had been cancelled as property was gone. No one called me to update me. I would of been standing out side waiting in the rain and no one would of been coming. To add insult to the matter, when asked why i wasnt informed i was told there was 40-50 people viewing, they didnt have time to call so many people. The lack of care and whatever attidtude is some what concerning. So basicaly we dont care about letting you know you been cancelled. Leads me to wounder if they are the same with tennants. If something needs replacing or fixing will they even respond?

He has been superb in the sale of our house and went above and beyond to ensure that our sale went ahead. From the beginning to the end he has had a positive outlook. On our viewings he was bright and bubbly and ensured that the viewers were made aware of the benefits of our property,. When we eventually agreed a sale we had a long process due to the fact that the buyers held up matters, however Rhys would always be pressing to try and speed up the process and always kept us up to date and informed. At one stage our buyer went abroad, Rhys was on calls to our buyer at 1030 at night trying to deal with their queries in an attempt to push our sale through. We can’t thank Rhys enough for what he did for us. He is a real credit to his trade and we would throughly recommend using him to friends and family. Again thank you Rhys Henry
